Apple A17 Pro chip unveiled!

The new Apple A17 Pro chip is built on 3nm lithography. Which means it is now even more powerful yet takes less energy.

It uses a 6-core CPU with 2x high-performance cores and 4x efficiency cores. Apple claims the CPU is 10 percent faster than the previous A16 chip. While the GPU offers 3x performance/watt versus the competitors. Meanwhile, the GPU also allows mesh shading hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing.

Apple even claims that the Triple-A PC and Console games such as Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 remake, and Assasin's Creed Mirage are coming to iPhones as the A17 Pro chip is powerful enough to run those games.

Meanwhile, the A17 Pro chip also boasts a 16-core neural engine that can process up to 35 Trillion operations per second. It supports engines for ProRes, AV decode, and the Pro display engine.

The chip also supports USB 3 speeds with up to 10Gbps making it faster than traditional USB-C ports. Apple suggests that users can employ USB 3 via the USB C port to swiftly transfer pro-grade video to a Mac or record directly to external storage. It will also support ProRes 4K60.

The fact that Apple can invite developers such as Capcom or Ubisoft to bring their triple-A games to iPhones shows how promising the A17 Pro chip is.

What do you guys think?
