HONOR introduces its new foldable concept phone intended to be carried as a purse with interchangeable fashionable straps and chains.
This new foldable may have one of the most surprising concepts but what makes it advanced is its 9 mm thick form factor when folded. This makes it even thinner than the HONOR Magic V2 at 9.9 mm.
It combines the physical design via interchangeable straps and chains with lively and attractive Always On Display (AOD) styles. The company tapped top talent to design these Always On Display styles, including Burberry menswear design director Bram Van Diepen, contemporary artist Yunuene Esparza, dean of the China Academy of Art International College Yuan Youmin, and interdisciplinary artist Xiao Hui Wang.
But because it is a future concept phone, do not expect that it will be for sale anytime soon. However, the brand is planning on opening up the platform for the AOD designs which could allow developers and designers around the world to create custom looks. These AODs can react to the user and the phone's environment as it tracks touches and has access to the ambient light sensor and the accelerometer.
Unfortunately, HONOR did not give hardware details about the V Purse as it isn't intended for mass production. The brand did say that it created a hinge that can withstand 400,000 fold cycles and that it focused on a hinge that folds inward.
Modern smartphones have acted as wallets in recent years while doubling as your house and car keys. It can also securely store documents. So is it that crazy to carry a foldable phone as a purse but not be able to carry other items.
What do you guys think?
