HONOR Magic V2, Ultimate now official: Slimmest 9.9 mm foldable, 7.92-inch screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

HONOR earlier introduced its newest high-end foldable smartphone called Magic V2.

The new slimmest foldable phone today!

It is the follow-up to the Magic Vs boasting upgraded overall specs and the slimmest body among all foldable smartphones today.

In particular, the handset is just 9.9mm slim when folded and just 4.7mm when unfolded. The previous slimmest is the HUAWEI Mate X3 at 11.08 mm. The device weighs just 231 grams.

According to HONOR, the device is using a 3D-printed titanium aluminum cover with a gearless unibody hinge mechanism. The folding mechanism uses custom short screws. It even has a P2i coating that repels liquid somehow on its electronics component though. It is available in Black, Silk Black, Silk Purple, and Gold colors.

For specs, the device boasts a 7.9-inch LTPO OLED primary screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, 2344 x 2156 resolution, and up to 1,600 nits brightness. For the cover screen, it comes with a regular 6.43-inch 10-bit OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 2376 x 1060 resolution, and an even brighter 2,500 nits peak brightness. This display also has stylus support.

Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with an overclocked 3.36GHz Prime core (Cortex-X3) with a new-gen Adreno GPU. It is paired with 12GB/16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, and a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with USB-C 66W SuperCharge support.

Keeping its performance in check is its use of the Ultra-thin Bionic Cooling system with a 29,000 mm² heat dissipation area.

For cameras, it is using a 50MP f/1.9 main camera paired with a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide shooter and a 20MP 2.5x telephoto camera with OIS.

The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, IR Blaster, WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC support, NFC, GPS, and dual SIM card slots.

It runs with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 OS.

The device is now available for order in China today and will be on sale starting July 20.

There is no word regarding its international availability yet.
