ShopeeFood eyes Philippine debut

ShopeeFood is coming soon to the Philippines, with the platform teasing a September 16 launch via its official Facebook page.

The entry of ShopeeFood is set to introduce new competition to the Philippine food delivery market, currently dominated by Grab and foodpanda.

According to Shopee's own description, ShopeeFood is a food delivery service built directly into the Shopee app, allowing users to order from their favorite restaurants without downloading a separate app.

Ordering through ShopeeFood follows six steps: launching the Shopee app and selecting "ShopeeFood," choosing a restaurant, selecting a meal and adding it to the cart, confirming a delivery address, selecting a payment method, and confirming the order before it is delivered.

Based on ShopeeFood's Indonesia website, merchants currently listed on the platform include Starbucks, KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Chatime, J.CO, Holland Bakery, Domino's Pizza, Richeese Factory, Kopi Kenangan, HokBen, Yoshinoya, Circle K, The Harvest, FamilyMart, Krispy Kreme, Wingstop, Solaria, and Upnormal Coffee. It is not yet known which merchants will be available when ShopeeFood launches in the Philippines.
