Improving email writing through AI

The Microsoft 365 Copilot tool will soon be accessible to more users to be "your everyday AI companion," according to a CNN report.

Additional corporate clients will be able to use this starting November 1. Testing has been ongoing for companies like Visa, General Motors, KPMG, and Lumen Technologies.

Generally, this tool can help users edit, summarize, create, and compare documents.

Specifically on writing, this will help users create concise and error-free emails. They can also summarize long email threads and suggest replies.

For Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscribers, they will be able to also access Microsoft Editor which can function as a writing assistant. This can suggest edits for "clarity, conciseness, inclusive language, and more" for a more "polished and professional" email.

Aside from email writing, this technology will be able to summarize meetings and suggest follow-up actions, or even create a chart in Excel, and convert a Word file into a Powerpoint presentation.

The Microsoft 365 Chat, previously called Business Chat, will be also accessible to company users.

This development comes after OpenAI released the AI chat tool ChatGPT. Other companies followed by rolling out tools that are similar to this.
