What are OpenAI's new launches?

On Tuesday, Reuters said in its report that OpenAI unveiled a marketplace where users can access personalized AI apps for any task, like teaching math or designing stickers. The move is seen as a signal to tap more consumers.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced the updates during the company's first developer conference. The event attracted 900 developers from around the globe, marking the company’s latest attempt to capitalize on the popularity of its ChatGPT.

Altman said ChatGPT currently has 100 million weekly active users a year after its launch.

Highlights of the event are the AI apps called "GPTs." OpenAI said these are early versions of AI assistants that can do real-world tasks.

A GPT Store will be launched later this month where people can share their GPTs and earn money based on the number of users.

Eventually, you'll just ask the computer for what you need, and it'll do all of these tasks for you, Altman said.

OpenAI also released updates, like a significant cost slashing which was welcomed by developers in attendance.

The company also announced a new GPT-4 Turbo model. This is cheaper but can process more data compared to GPT-4.

Other products launched are an assistant application programming interface with vision and image modalities, and a beta program for developers to fine-tune GPT-4 models.

To address the concerns of big enterprises, OpenAI also launched a Custom Models program that allows for the customization of GPT-4 models at an "expensive" price.

What do you think about this?
