Nothing Phone (1) receives Android 14 beta!

As reported earlier this year, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing says that the Phone (1) will be one of the lucky devices to receive the latest Android OS. This update is also known as the Nothing OS 2.5 which you may download later on at the source link below.

This brings new features such as a redesigned customization page for the lock screen and home screen, the capability to change your background photo into dynamic wallpaper, and new solid color wallpapers.

Nothing also added a new monochrome theme, customizable double press power button gesture, lock screen shortcut choices, faster way to take screenshots screenshot editor and new widgets.

Moreover, the developers added new Glyph animation when using NFC, modified back gesture looks, a new Quick Settings layout, and the ability to select ringtone and notification sound volumes individually.

The phone maker says they also included stability improvements for the camera app, and for overall system stability so that users may experience smoother UI.

In case you cannot wait for the official rollout. You can try going to the Nothing website. Download the APK, go to Settings, System, and press Update to Beta version.

As a heads up, this is still in beta and there might be a chance that things could go wrong. It is recommended to back up your data first before updating to Android 14.
