In a statement, PLDT said the partnership would bring together the expertise of industry leaders, crucial to pushing for their goal of boosting the state of connectivity in the Philippines.
BBIX PH is a leading internet exchange service provider. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality, low-latency connectivity solutions, BBIX PH has been at the forefront of shaping the digital future of the Philippines. On the other hand, ePLDT is the largest data center operator in the Philippines offering outcome-based solutions including multi-cloud and managed services.
The signing ceremony was led by BBIX Philippines President and CEO Michikazu Fukuchi, BBIX PH COO Takeshi Ohba, BBIX PH and InfiniVAN Chief Technology Officer Alberto Espedido, ePLDT President and CEO Victor Genuino, PLDT and Smart International Business Groups First Vice President and Head of Enterprise Mitch Locsin and ePLDT Chief Data Center Officer Gary Ignacio.
With the strategic collaboration among BBIX, ePLDT, and PLDT Enterprise, we envision a transformative future for the Philippine internet industry. This partnership reflects BBIX's commitment to elevate the standards of connectivity and help foster a more digitally inclusive world, Fukuchi said.
Genuino, meanwhile, said the group's VITRO Sta. Rosa will help in achieving the partnership’s target.
Once it goes live in early 2024, it will be the country’s most modern, most sustainable, and first true hyperscale data center. Our partnership with BBIX PH will help ensure that we have the best-in-class platform for our partners and services for our customers, Genuino said.
