During the recently held 16th Ani ng Dangal, Domcar Calinawan Lagto, a valued member of the HUAWEI PH Community, was among the 26 Filipinos honored by the Philippine government.

The award recognizes his artistic contribution and highlights the creative talents of the Philippines. We are happy to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Domcar for this remarkable achievement, HUAWEI said.

Prior to this, Lagto in November 2023 bagged the grand prize at the HUAWEI XMage Awards for his photograph entitled “Dragon Clouds.” He used a HUAWEI P30 Pro to capture his piece.

Only when a photographer pushes against conventional boundaries can we see scenes that are about to disappear, uncommon, or hard to see, Chen Xiaobo, 9th Vice President of China Photographers Association, said about Lagto's captured image.

The HUAWEI XMAGE Awards showcase how the XMAGE brand has inspired users' creativity when using mobile devices. The tech company said it sees mobile imaging as a powerful lens for viewing and capturing life's precious moments, and as a tool for stimulating visual ideas.

Since its launch in 2017, the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards not only inspired many individuals to pick up their mobile phones and take magnificent photographs, but it has also become a platform for demonstrating wonderful creations that give people a glimpse into the photographers' views on the world and their daily lives, the company said.
