Build/Design - The Infinix GT 20 Pro's body is made of plastic as seen on its frame and back cover. It uses the MechaLoop LED lighting which can be customized according to the user's taste and is useful for displaying notifications as well as showing charging details, gaming, or playing music

Similarly, the POCO X6 Pro also uses a plastic body and rear. For its frames, it appears to be much sturdier as it looks to have tougher plastic material. Design-wise it has a glossy finish and looks minimalist.

In this area, The Infinix GT 20 Pro offers gamer aesthetics with its transparent design + MechaLoop lighting combo. The rear cam also resembles the MLBB mini-map. Meanwhile, the POCO X6 Pro may be suitable for those who prefer less fancy and cleaner looks.

Since both devices have a Glasstic back cover, they are prone to fingerprint smudges.

Display - The GT 20 Pro uses a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, faster 144Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz touch sampling rate which can go up to 1,500Hz in Esports mode. However, it has a lower resolution with FHD+ 2400 x 1080 at 388 ppi and has lower peak brightness at 1,300 nits.

On the other hand, the POCO X6 Pro offers a smaller display at 6.67-inch but has a tough screen protection rating of Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a higher 1.5K 2712 x 1220 resolution, 480Hz touch sampling rate which goes up to 2,160Hz peak touch sampling rate. Meanwhile, the display is limited to a slightly slower 120Hz refresh rate and lower PWM dimming of 1920Hz.

If you put them side by side, the GT 20 Pro appears to have brighter, sharper colors by default and has a warmer tone. It is vibrant to look at which may appear to catch the attention of most gamers.

On the other hand, the POCO X6 Pro offers a slightly more natural color and cooler tone and has better details overall due to its higher-resolution display. The glass protection may give users assurance in case of accidental scratches or drops. Infinix compensates for the lack of glass protection with its free tempered glass.

When it comes to refresh rate, the difference from 120Hz to 144Hz is barely noticeable when scrolling in social media apps which both have smooth experiences overall. In gaming, 144Hz may have a slight impact, particularly in fast-paced shooting games.

For touch experience, both offer high and fast touch experiences. The POCO X6 Pro will have the upper hand in numbers but in actual gaming usage, the Infinix GT 20 Pro can keep up and meet the requirements in the Esports scene.

Specs - The Infinix GT 20 Pro is powered by the 3.0GHz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate octa-core chip with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and Pixel X5 Turbo Gaming Display chip.

For memory configuration, Infinix GT 20 Pro has a more generous approach with its 12GB LPDDR4X RAM + 12GB virtual RAM and large 256GB storage.

Meanwhile, the POCO X6 Pro uses a 3.35GHz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra octa-core chip with Mali-G615 MC6 GPU, 8GB/12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB/512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

For this department, the POCO X6 Pro offers better overall performance on paper.

But in actual gaming usage, the Infinix GT 20 Pro can keep up despite having a slightly weaker processor. This is thanks to the additional dedicated gaming display chip which allows the phone to have similar or better and stable frame rates.

The said Pixel X5 Turbo will force-supported games to run in 120Hz. So far we've tried it in Mobile Legends and Genshin Impact. Although the open world game will drain the battery significantly in this mode.

There are some games the forced higher refresh rate won't work like the newly launched Wuthering Waves and old popular game titles like Asphalt 9: Legends.

In fast-paced shooting games like Farlight 84, both phones yielded smooth performance with rare fps drops even on large enemy troops clashing.

For battery, both feature a 5,000mAh capacity. In our PC Mark battery test, the POCO X6 Pro bested the Infinix GT 20 Pro by 2 minutes only. As you can see POCO got 12 hours 37 minutes, the Infinix had 12 hours and 35 minutes.

In terms of charging speed, the POCO X6 Pro has a faster adaptor with its 67W. Infinix, on the other hand, has slower yet decent speeds at 45W. Infinix makes a difference with the Bypass Charge tech.

This means users can keep on using the phone while being plugged in without worrying about the battery's health.

Cameras - Infinix offers 108MP f/1.75 HM6 sensor + 2MP macro and depth helpers + circular flash.

POCO on the other hand, has 64MP OIS main cam + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + LED flash.

In our test, the Infinix GT 20 Pro offers higher-resolution images and has brighter colors in both daylight and night shots.

For POCO X6 Pro it brings a more natural color and even has better edge detection in Portrait mode. It also has the upper hand in taking snaps and image processing thanks to the stronger chip inside with a probably better image processing chip.

The GT 20 Pro bested the X6 Pro in terms of zoom as it offers 3x in-sensor lossless zoom, however, POCO has a more useful ultra-wide camera.

When it comes to selfies, the 32MP GT 20 Pro offers more resolution but the X6 Pro provides color accuracy.

For low light, the GT 20 Pro captured higher details around the face of the subject being able to accurately haggard look.

The POCO X6 Pro smoothens out the face of the subject despite turning off the beauty effect. However, it had a better dynamic range if looked closely at the background.

For connectivity, both have WiFi 2.4GHz/5GHz, 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G LTE, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM support.

OS - The Infinix GT 20 Pro uses XOS for GT based on Android 14. This offers a dedicated gaming space called XArena where players may tweak their settings based on user preference. You can clear cache, get key information of what game enhancements are supported, adjust touch response, display brightness, use HDR mode, faster boot, enter high-performance mode, unlock ultra frame rate, and enable bypass charging when gaming.

It also has a smooth and clean UI and so far we haven't encountered any ads throughout our experience.

The POCO X6 Pro runs Android 14 with HyperOS. This also comes with game turbo but doesn't have as many gaming enhancements as the other. Although it comes with a voice changer which you may use for fun when playing with teammates.

For UI, it also has a smooth experience but you will encounter ads by default. There's an option to turn them off manually but you'll have to do it manually depending on the app.

Infinix GT 20 Pro advantages - MechaLoop Design, colorful display, Pixel X5 Turbo Gaming Display chip, Bypass Charging, 108MP main camera, 32MP selfie, cleaner UI with no ads
POCO X6 Pro advantages - Better build quality, higher resolution feature-packed display, Glass protection, stronger processor, bigger storage option, faster charging, ultra-wide camera, longer software support.

Our thoughts

The POCO X6 Pro has a slight advantage overall as it should since it is priced higher (PHP 18,999).

On the other hand, despite having weaker hardware, the Infinix GT 20 Pro delivered its promised stable gaming claims on its advertised titles at nearly similar or even better performance.

As a result, we were not even surprised that it was accepted as the tournament phone for MPL PH. It is worth pointing out you are getting all of it at a PHP 14K introductory price.

In the end, both are highly capable devices that should enable users to do their preferred tasks whether for gaming, camera, or multimedia. So if you have a higher budget, you may consider the POCO X6 Pro.

On the other hand, Infinix GT 20 Pro is also a VERY GOOD deal despite its more affordable price tag.

You may purchase the GT20 Pro at Lazada, TikTok, and Shopee pages.
