Following CMF Phone 1's launch last week, it seems the device's depth camera has some extra trick.

The surprising feature is that the depth camera can also see through some objects. Meanwhile, you cannot access it using the default camera app.

The X user @madhavkant05, the one who discovered the unique trait pointed out that he had to use a third-party app. His initial discoveries revealed a low-res black-and-white image. However, things surprisingly shifted when he aimed the camera at a TV remote control which displayed the remote's internal battery structure despite the cover being untouched.

Nothing quickly noticed the viral post and explained what's the reason behind it. According to its co-founder Akis Evangelidis, the depth sensor lacked an infrared light filter. This missing piece enables infrared light to pass through in certain scenarios and reveal the internal layout of thin or semi-transparent objects especially those made of black acrylic material.

While this may be a cool feature for some, others who have seen it expressed privacy concerns.

With that, Nothing responded that they would disable the said feature via software update within the week.

To recall, this reminds us of OnePlus 8 Pro's unintended X-ray vision which was also removed via software update for similar reasons.

What do you guys think?
