In several mall events over the weekend, top global mobile maker OPPO showcased the top features of the newly launched Reno12 Series 5G in the Philippines.

During the launch, the company highlighted the phones' design, durability, AI cameras, and power efficiency, among others. The series includes the Reno12 5G (PHP 24,999 SRP) and Reno12 Pro 5G (PHP 34,999 SRP).

First is the All-Round Armour body in stylish classic designs.
Both phones were "built to last". They come with drop and impact resistance as well as anti-aging technology and dust and waterproofing.
It uses a high-strength alloy framework with aerospace-grade strength to provide resistance to bending and dents from drops, and sponge bionic cushioning for better shot absorption. OPPO also said that this tech has improved resistance from corrosion, temperature, and thermal conductivity.
The Reno12 5G uses Gorilla Glass 7i to protect its display from scratches, punctures, and drops while the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G is equipped with the even tougher Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Moreover, the two also have IP65 of dust protection and low-pressure water jets from all directions.
The Reno12 5G is available in Space Brown, Sunset Gold, and Nebula Silver colorways at 7.57mm and weighs just 177 grams. Meanwhile, the Reno12 Pro 5G is even slimmer at 7.4mm and weighs 180 grams only.

For cameras, the OPPO Reno12 5G features a 50MP f/1.8 with AF and OIS + 8MP f/2.2 112-degree ultra-wide-angle + 2MP f/2.4 macro + dual-tone LED flash at the back. In front, it has a 32MP shooter f/2.0 with AF.
Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G features a stronger camera system featuring 50MP f/1.8 w/ AF, OIS + 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle + 50MP f/2.0 2x telephoto at the back. It also has a 50MP shooter with AF.
The phone also has the Natural Tone tech that dynamically changes exposure based on the scene, resulting in more realistic lighting effects and skin tones. OPPO said that it identifies a variety of scenarios, including different skin tones, buildings, and ambient lighting, to ensure the most authentic skin tone, whether in a selfie or a group photo.
These devices also have the Flash Snapshot tech allowing for precise modifications to the shutter speed based on ambient light conditions to improve image quality.
The two also have AI highlighting the AI Eraser 2.0 technology with a click to remove unwanted objects in the background with up to 98 percent recognition accuracy.
It also has the AI Studio pre-installed which allows people to transform any of their photos into their own digital avatar. It comes with a variety of creative filters and likenesses to choose from. You can use this feature as long as you are connected to the internet.
Soon, OPPO will also bring the AI Clear Face to increase clarity and reduce distortion in group photos of up to 10 people and AI Best Face that can magically reopen your eyes when taking photos and you accidentally blink to these phones.

The two phones are packed with WiFi 6 2 x 2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.4 that supports SBS, AAC, aptX HD, LDAC, and LHDC (OPPO and OnePlus only) codecs.
It also has the AI LinkBoost technology using a 360-degree Surround Antenna and Intelligent Network Selection for robust connectivity even in challenging scenarios.
The company said that it can improve speeds in busy network environments, quick signal recovery in areas with weak signals, reduce network lag, seamless network switching, and minimize interference (double WiFi speeds versus competing phones), and accurate urban positioning.
It is the first phone to receive TÜV Rheinland High Network Performance certification from the said segments.
The phones also come with the BeaconLink technology that improves Bluetooth uplink by 300 percent. It enables device-to-device voice calls over Bluetooth at a distance of up to 200 meters in a completely disconnected environment.

The two phones are equipped with standard 5,000mAh battery capacity. But due to their use of the new power efficient 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chip.
OPPO said that this configuration consumes up to 30 percent less power in the CPU department and up to 46 percent less GPU power consumption while being 30 percent more efficient than the previous generation.
The company claims that this can last for 2.07 days on a single charge. Using their 80W USB-C charging brick, 1 to 100 percent charging only needs 47 minutes.
The company also claims that the phone's battery will still perform like new even after for years.

Also, to ensure that the device will stay smooth, it has the 48-month Fluency Protection guaranteeing that the will have almost the same performance as when it was new even after four years.
