Xiaomi MIX Flip launched: up to 1.5K 6.8-inch display, SD8G3, Leica cameras

Xiaomi joins the competition for clamshell folds and introduces the MIX Flip.

Xiaomi announces its first Flip phone!

The new device boasts glamorous aesthetics available in White, Black, and Purple.

The main display offers a 6.86-inch TCL C8+ 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. It also offers UTG glass protection.

Meanwhile, the cover display boasts a 4-inch 1.5K TCL C8+ 120Hz refresh rate screen with similar peak brightness and Xiaomi Shield Glass protection.

Similar to the MIX Fold 4, the main frame is made of 6M42 aluminum alloy. The outer and inner screens are shielded from harm by UTG ultra-thin flexible glass and Xiaomi Shield Glass. The internal mechanism of the tiny dual-link hinge, which has been recognized by SGS as a dependable folding certification, is made of the same high-strength and wear-resistant components as the MIX Fold 4. It can fold and unfold 500,000 times. Additionally, it provides a Xiaomi Nylon Fiber special edition, which is a finely woven nylon fiber with superior stain and abrasion resistance.

It can withstand 500K folds

Inside, the flip is powered by the 3.3GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core processor with Adreno GPU, 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

It also has a 4,780mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W fast charging.

For cameras, the MIX Flip offers a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera with OIS, and a 50MP OmniVision OV60A40 3x telephoto camera with macro with a minimum focusing distance of 9 cm.

In terms of selfies, it is equipped with a 32MP OV32B front camera.

Other features noted are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and Hi-Res certification.

Connectivity-wise, the phone offers 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 14 with HyperOS skin on top.

It is currently available in China. Xiaomi has not yet announced for global consumers.
