According to Globe and National Telecommunications Commission, this will serve as protection from scammers who are still around.

Ensuring security
In an advisory, Globe urged its subscribers to turn off their RCS chat or iMessage to avoid scammers.
A user
posted the advisory online, while also criticizing it.
All this just because they are so incompetent in catching spam SMS, the user said.
For iPhone users out there, if you do not mind not using your iMessage, here's how to disable your iMessage:
- Go to Settings
- Go to Messages
- Look for iMessage then turn it off
Turning this off will give you more privacy and security.
If you cannot do this, there are still other ways to
protect yourself from text scams. This includes turning off message filters on your device and directly reporting the scammer to authorities.
