HUAWEI's upcoming trifold smartphone has been spotted on JD.com revealing its name "Mate XT Ultimate Design" and other key info.
According to the teasers released by HUAWEI earlier this week, the Mate XT features a sleek and slim design when opened. Once unfolded, it also reveals a tablet-sized screen, guessed to be around 10 inches in size, and is backed by an intricate dual-hinge mechanism.
Based on the reports, this device will be under 5mm thin only when unfolded. Once it's folded the device becomes a traditional-looking smartphone that should fit in its users' pockets.
Turning it over, the back design appeared reminiscent of the Mate 60 RS, featuring the recognizable octagonal golden camera module that houses a periscope telephoto lens.
The rear panel boasts a luxurious vegan leather finish in a red colorway, adding a touch of elegance to a phone that's expected to carry a premium price tag. The golden hinge and frames further enhance the luxurious feel, complementing the overall aesthetic of the tri-fold design.
The pre-order page also revealed it will have a 16GB/512GB or 16GB/1TB memory configuration.
Seeing this listing also debunks previous rumors that the upcoming tri-fold won't come to the consumer market anytime soon and that HUAWEI will just have a product showcase.
This is also expected to be the first tri-fold that will be available in the market unlike the concept phone TECNO Phantom Ultimate 2.
As for the pricing, unofficial information suggests it will be at around CNY 14,900 or around PHP 118.2K if converted directly.
Further leaks suggest it will be a limited edition unit potentially making it a collector's item for those who will get it.
