HUAWEI MatePad 12 X now official in PH: PaperMatte screen, PC-level features, PHP 37,999 price tag

Tech giant HUAWEI launched the new MatePad 12 X in the Philippines for just PHP 37,999. This is the brand's more affordable option for those needing a premium tablet with the PC-level capabilities of the more powerful MatePad 12 Pro 12.2" (PHP 59,999 SRP).

The MatePad 12 X also features a premium-looking design available in Greenery at just 5.9 mm thin and 555 grams light.

In front, the 12-inch display is LCD. But, a high-quality one. It features a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother animation, a crisp 2.8K 2800 x 1840 resolution, and 1,000 nits peak brightness. Moreover, it has the PaperMatte Edition display technology with a Nanoscale Anti-glare Etching technology to make it easier on the eyes and prevent glares even under direct sunlight. Of course, paper-like feel when using an M-Pencil (3rd generation) stylus.

This screen also has an ultra-hydrophobic oil-resistant film as well that can even optimize touch responsiveness apart from minimizing unwanted fingerprint stains.

The tablet uses a capable PaperMatte screen

The exact chip wasn't specified, but it uses a Kirin CPU that runs the WPS Office suite for seamless word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations like a traditional PC and many other apps for entertainment and creativity. It is paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The battery is also quite large. It uses a 10,100mAh capacity with up to 14 hours of video playback. It charges via USB-C using the 66W SuperCharge tech that can fill it to 100 percent in just 85 minutes.

It also has a 13MP f/1.8 AF main camera and an 8MP f/2.2 wide selfie shooter. Both cameras can record up to 1080p.
