After the US ban last month on TikTok, the social media platform released a direct download APK for affected users.

A temporary fix for users

Previously, TikTok was shut off for a few hours in the United States. Due to President Trump's efforts, the social media app was allowed to continue its operations in the country. But still, the app can't be downloaded yet in the Google Play Store.

As a remedy, TikTok has finally made an alternative to download the app by releasing the APK file available to everyone directly from the website. The developer said it is available in both the standard version and a Lite version with slower internet connections.

After that, users must open the file and authorize the installation process or update the software for outdated versions. Upon doing so, you will be able to enjoy the social media app again.

Finally, TikTok said the app must be downloaded from its official website and avoid 3rd party links for security concerns.

What do you guys think?

  2. Great reporting—this TikTok APK release provides an important workaround for Android users, especially with all the recent restrictions. For those who enjoy exploring alternative apps, I recently came across playpelis para android. It’s a solid streaming app that lets you watch movies and shows without ads or sign-ups — definitely worth checking out!
