Very long software support
Both devices share the same back design. You can distinguish them through the height and colorways. The A56 appears to be slightly smaller in height at 162.2mm and features Awesome Light Gray, Graphite and Pink.
While the A36 5G measured taller at 162.9 mm and is available in Awesome Lavender, Black, or White.

Meanwhile, both devices have a slim figure measuring at 7.4mm and have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

The two devices also differ in chips. The Galaxy A56 5G features 2.9GHz 4nm Exynos 1580 octa-core chip with Xclipse 540 GPU based on AMD RDNA 3 architecture.
The A36 5G on the other hand is being offered with 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Soc with Adreno GPU. Both also offer 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W.

For cameras, the Galaxy A36 uses a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter with OIS + 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro helper.
The Galaxy A56 uses 50MP f/1.8 main cam with OIS + 12MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro camera.
Other features are stereo speakers and an In-Display fingerprint reader.
For connectivity, 5G, 4G, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC and dual SIM.
For OS, the phones run Android 15 with One UI 7.0 out of the box.
