New 5G mobile WiFi soon in PH?

During an exclusive interview with select international media, Eric YL Huang, Acer’s Director of Connectivity, suggested that the Acer Connect M6E 5G mobile WiFi may soon be available in additional markets, including the Philippines. The device is designed to provide 5G connectivity on the go, allowing users to share a high-speed network with multiple devices.

Built for durability, the IP68-rated device is resistant to dust and water and meets military-grade durability standards. It weighs 270 grams and includes an 8,000mAh battery, a USB-C port, and NFC for quick pairing.

The Acer Connect M6E 5G is a portable router that supports simultaneous connections for extended periods, offering up to 28 hours of continuous use on a single charge. 

It works with both physical and virtual SIM cards, enabling internet access in more than 135 countries. The device includes SignalScan technology, which helps maintain stable connections even in areas with weak signal coverage.

Using WiFi 6E and 2x2 MIMO technology, the router can convert 5G signals into a high-performance wireless network. It claims a maximum speed of 9.6 Gbps, along with MU-MIMO support, which may help reduce lag during streaming, gaming, or video calls.

The device also incorporates AI-based features, such as real-time transcription and translation, which could assist in meetings or multilingual communication. Security measures include WPA/WPA2 encryption, a firewall, and VPN support, with automatic updates to address potential vulnerabilities.

As per the executive, the device is still exclusive in Taiwan for now. But it is expected to be released in the international market soon.
