HUAWEI nova 14, nova 14 Pro launched: Kunlun Glass, up to 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED, 50MP RYYB cameras

Apart from the HUAWEI nova 14 Ultra, the brand also introduced the nova 14 and a Pro version.

HUAWEI nova 14 Series is now official

Both devices feature sleek designs and a range of color options. The nova 14 is available in Leather Sand Black, Frosted White, and Ice Crystal Blue, with a Kunlun glass edition for added durability. The nova 14 Pro offers Feather Sand Black, Frosted White, Ice Crystal Blue, and Ice Crystal Pink finishes.

Furthermore, the two phones support NFC-enabled E-Ink display cases for customizable cover designs.

These phones also boast high-resolution displays with adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rates. The nova 14 has a 6.7-inch flat screen with a 2412 x 1084 resolution, while the Pro variant upgrades to a 6.78-inch curved LTPO display with a 2776 x 1224 resolution.

Meanwhile, HUAWEI has not officially confirmed the processor details, but just claimed that both devices are optimized for efficient performance, supporting intelligent multitasking, real-time image processing, and low-latency operations. 

The nova 14 features

The RAM wasn't specified, but the phone's feature is 256GB/512GB storage options.

A large 5,500mAh battery powers both models and charges using 100W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo technology. 

The camera systems differ between the two models. The nova 14 features a triple rear setup, including a 50MP RYYB Ultra Vision main sensor, a 12MP RYYB telephoto lens with OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide macro lens. A 50MP front camera handles high-resolution selfies. 

The nova 14 Pro features

On the other hand, the nova 14 Pro uses a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture and a 1.5MP Maple Color lens for improved color accuracy. There's also an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with macro and a 12MP telephoto sensor with up to 30x zoom and OIS.

Its dual front cameras include a 50MP portrait-tracking lens and an 8MP close-up lens with 5x zoom.

Additional features include AI-powered camera tools such as Magic Eraser, 3D facial contouring, and advanced portrait beautification modes. The Nova 14 Pro also introduces a smart control key, a first for the nova series. 

Connectivity features are WiFi 7+, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, NavIC, and NFC. HUAWEI remained silent on their 5G connectivity, and the phones are presumed to feature 4G data.

They come with HarmonyOS 5 pre-installed, offering enhanced multitasking tools such as Live Window, tap-to-share functionality, and one-click HUAWEI ID login. The upgraded Celia voice assistant provides more realistic AI responses for daily tasks.

The nova 14 is going to be available on May 30, 2025, in China. While the Pro Edition will start selling earlier on May 23.
