HUAWEI Freebuds 6 (global) unveiled: upgraded semi-open earbuds and up to 2.3Mbps lossless sound

Following its China launch, the HUAWEI Freebuds 6 were announced for the global market.

To recap, the new audio product features a droplet-shaped design with smooth curves for a comfortable fit. According to the company, they are 12 percent smaller and 9 percent lighter than their predecessor, with the design refined using data from millions of ears to improve comfort.

The earbuds use a dual-driver system, combining an 11 mm dynamic driver with a planar diaphragm driver to deliver clear highs, deep bass, and balanced mids, even in open sound environments.

Additional features include automatic sound adjustment based on ear canal shape, fit, and volume, along with two sound modes: Classical and Balanced, tuned in collaboration with musicians. The open-fit active noise cancellation reduces noise by up to 95 dB while minimizing wind interference. Users can control calls with simple head gestures, and the earbuds adjust volume intelligently based on ambient noise.

They utilize a separate triple-system design to enhance audio quality and are the company’s first open-fit model to support 2.3 Mbps lossless audio transmission with high-resolution sound up to 48 kHz/24 bit. Furthermore, the FreeBuds 6 also boasts HWA Lossless and Hi-Res Wireless Audio certifications.

Its battery life is also another highlight, offering up to 2.5 hours of playback with just a 5-minute charge and a total of 36 hours when fully charged. The smart charging system is designed to extend battery longevity by 37 percent by adapting to user charging habits.

The FreeBuds 6 support multi-device connectivity, allowing simultaneous pairing with two devices across iOS, Android, and Windows, with additional switching capabilities on EMUI devices. Proximity pairing enables quick connections when opening the case, and the earbuds carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

The new earbuds are now available in the UK and Europe. No word yet on a PH availability, but we will let you know once we hear from HUAWEI.
