COMPUTEX 2025: Acer ventures into AI wearables—releases smart ring, buds, and more

Ahead of the actual COMPUTEX 2025 event in Taipei, Taiwan, PC giant Acer showcased its newest AI-powered wearables.

It includes the Acer FreeSense Ring, Acer AI TransBuds, and a LOT of other Acer Gadget devices like e-bikes and an array of smart accessories.

This is the company's first smart ring, boasting an ultra-lightweight titanium alloy body with the ability to track heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality.

Moreover, Acer explains that it can generate personalized wellness insights and provide suggestions. It also has features like sleep stage analysis and continuous tracking for health management and lifestyle awareness, as well as full access to all health data without additional subscription fees.

The FreeSense Ring comes with 8 x 2.6 mm thickness available in Rose Gold Matte finish and Black Gloss finish. It weighs 2 to 3 grams and is available in #7 to #13 ring sizes. It also supports 5 ATM of water resistance and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

As its name suggests, the Acer AI TransBuds are designed for real-time AI translation. It is a lightweight and compact earbuds that could be connected to a smartphone or tablet via a lug-in receiver for a two-way, real-time voice translation powered by AI-based speech recognition and semantic analysis.

Acer also said that only one person needs to wear the earbuds for an effective translation, which might be ideal for casual conversations, business meetings, livestreams, or online study sessions. It also has support for live captioning and transcription and 15 major languages spoken across Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

The buds connect with Bluetooth 5.4 with up to 6 hours of music battery life. Each bud contains 50mAh, and the case comes with an extra 400mAh juice.

Acer eMobility

Acer Gadget also showcased its latest e-scooters and e-bikes, which include the Acer eScooter Series 4 Select, Series 5 Select, Predator ES Storm, and Predator ES Thunder.

According to the company, these are equipped with 400 to 500W motors, 
adaptive brakes, and suspension systems.  Riders can also monitor performance and manage security settings via the Acer eMobility App.

The company also showcased the Predator eRanger, a fat-tire e-bike first introduced at the Taipei Cycle Show 2025 earlier this year. Acer said that this is proof of its commitment to developing more smart and versatile mobility solutions.

There is no word on when these devices will be available yet, or how much they will cost.

Acer is inviting COMPUTEX 2025 attendees to visit the Acer showcase at Booth M0104, 4F, Hall 1 at the Nangang Exhibition Center during COMPUTEX 2025 this May 20 to 23, 2025.
