TECNO recently revealed that the upcoming SPARK 40 Pro+ will be the first smartphone in the world powered by the new Helio G200 SoC from MediaTek.

The first with Helio G200

According to the company, this offers a 10 percent performance boost over its predecessor, the SPARK 30 Pro with the Helio G100.

In case you missed it, the MediaTek Helio G200 processor is a chip built under the 6nm manufacturing process. It features 2x Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, promising smoother responsiveness and faster multitasking on entry-level smartphones.

It also has the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with frequency increased to 1.1GHz for a 10 percent improvement in single-core graphics performance for a smoother multimedia and gaming experience.

The AnTuTu benchmark score of the device is 470,000, according to TECNO Mobile.

The SPARK 40 Series will not just be raising specs, said Joey Qu, TECNO senior product manager. "With the Helio G200 as its engine, the SPARK 40 Series redefines what's possible in its class, offering an unprecedented experience for its users —All while delivering signature slim design.

Ahead of the launch, TECNO also shared some of the key specs of the device. TECNO revealed that the phone will come with a 1.5K resolution screen, promising the strongest visual configuration in its price range.

Moreover, the handset will also come with the DCSAR (Dynamic Communication Smart Adaptive Response, which offers significant improvement in network efficiency even in complex or weak signal environments. According to TECNO, this tech will enable more stable and faster connections, translating to seamless streaming, calling, and gaming on the go.

The phone will also feature "eye-catching slim aesthetics, flagship-caliber power, and  TECNO AI features."

The device will launch globally in July 2025.
