HONOR boasts Magic V5's Super Steel Hinge, can carry a Sofa + 35 kg dumbbell

A few days before its launch date, HONOR showcased the strength and durability of its upcoming Magic V5 foldable.

To recap, the HONOR Magic V5 is set to launch this coming September 5. The flagship foldable features an ultra-durable construction thanks to the improved Super Steel Hinge.

The said innovation provides 2300 MPa tensile strength, resulting in a much sturdier build quality.

HONOR Magic V5 can carry a Sofa 

HONOR's latest demonstration proved that the Magic V5 can endure a suspended Sofa or even a 35 kg dumbbell.

The brand also submerged the Magic V5 in an aquarium, proving that it can also survive being underwater for a certain period. Such a feat was achieved with the IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings.

Since the rise of foldables in 2019, it has undergone several waves of innovation, evolving from thick, crease-prone designs to sleeker, more practical form factors. With each generation, the focus has shifted toward slimmer profiles, greater portability, and a user experience closer to that of bar phones. HONOR has been at the forefront of this transformation, continuously pushing the boundaries of thinness. The HONOR Magic V5 exemplifies this progress, setting a new industry benchmark as the world’s thinnest foldable and redefining what slim truly means in the foldable category,” said HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng.

The rest of the details to expect are the up to 7.95-inch OLED panel, 6.43-inch cover screen, 4.32GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite with Adreno GPU, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 1TB storage.

It also boasts a 5,820mAh battery, making it the largest capacity for a super slim foldable with just 4.2mm thickness.

For its cameras, the Magic V uses a 50MP f/1.6 main camera with OIS + 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide camera + 64MP f/2.5 3x Periscope telephoto camera with OIS and an LED Flash. 

Lastly, the HONOR Magic V5 comes with exclusive freebies of HONOR Pad X8A and DJI Neo Drone Camer, both having a total worth of PHP 18,000.
