Build Quality/Design
 |
Front and rear design |
At first glance, the phone looks eye-catching because of the bright white color and its floral-shaped, Iridescent mermaid design. Depending on the angle of light hitting the pattern, we get different shades of yellow, white, and blue. It is made of an Aerospace-grade aluminum frame and a one-piece sculpted glass.
Solid and premium feeling
Upon holding the phone, you immediately notice how solid and premium the phone is. The softened curves with the textured glass and aluminum frame add to the overall upscale experience while reducing fingerprint smudges significantly.
It is IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance rated, meaning that the product is dust-tight and can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. This is also the highest IP rating on smartphones yet.
It measures 163.73 x 76.98 x 7.58 mm and weighs 201 grams.

OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G's Flexible AMOLED screen |
In front is the aforementioned 6.83-inch Flexible AMOLED screen, which has a 2,800 x 1,272 resolution, a 1,200 nits peak brightness, and 1.07 billion colors. It is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protected.
Around the panel are slim and symmetrical bezels. The punch hole with the selfie camera is on the upper part of the panel. Above it and inside the top bezel is the super slim earpiece. The same slim earpiece acts as the second speaker, too.
 |
OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G top and bottom |
On top are the antenna lines, microphone port, top-firing speaker grills, and an IR blaster, while at the bottom are the bottom-firing speaker grills, USB-C port, microphone port, and antenna lines.
The SIM tray accommodates up to two nano SIM cards. There is a red rubber gasket.
We even submerged it in the Hinagdanan cave.

Quick thoughts

OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G is using its hotspot feature on the Dynamic Island-like notification |
If the OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G is priced competitively, then the Reno14 Pro 5G could be an incredible phone for those who want near-flagship design and performance.
The screen is bright and crisp and has symmetrical, slim bezels, while the body is made of an aluminum frame and a glass rear panel. This makes it solid, premium, and eye-catching while reducing fingerprint smudges out of the box.

OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G's AnTuTu and GeekBench results |
It comes with the powerful 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8450 octa-core processor, Mali-G720 MP7 GPU, 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage. It scored 1.57 million on AnTuTu as well.
Inside is a large 6,200mAh battery. Given that the phone is so slim, we must confirm if it has the silicon carbon battery found on the OPPO Find X8 and Reno13 Pro 5G. It comes with an 80W SUPERVOOC wall charger.
What surprised us was the performance of all its cameras. We recently visited the island of Bohol, where we took photos and videos. We even submerged the phone in fresh water pools of the Hinagdanan cave and the Hotel Swimming pool.
We will also be taking more photos with the phone and running our usual battery of tests.
What do you guys think?
