vivo X Fold5 confirmed to launch in PH this August, priced at PHP 109,999

After spotting its teasers in Cebu last month, the vivo X Fold 5 has its official price in the PH and will launch officially this August.

A new foldable challenger in the Philippines

This will be vivo's first foldable smartphone in the country and in Southeast Asia. 

We received the tip from our good friend Jullian of UtterlyTechie, who spotted the price of the X Fold5 in Cebu City.

To recap, the vivo X Fold5  features a lightweight body at 217 grams, an ultra-thin form factor measuring just 4.3mm when unfolded, and has a triple IP rating of IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+.

vivo claims it has a durable aerospace-grade hinge capable of withstanding up to 600,000 folds, ensuring users that it can last for many years. The phone is also claimed to resist cold temperatures as low as negative 20 degrees Celsius.

The features

In terms of display, the phone features an 8.03-inch AMOLED main panel with 2K resolution and a 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate. 

Meanwhile, the cover display has a 6.53-inch FHD+ LTPO 120Hz refresh rate.

Inside, it sports a 3.3GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with Adreno GPU, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, and a 6,000mAh BlueVolt battery with 80W wired charging or 40W wireless charging.

For cameras, the vivo X Fold 5 boasts a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor with OIS + 50MP ultra-wide camera + 50MP IMX882 3x periscope telephoto sensor with up to 100x digital zoom. 

Moreover, the device boasts ZEISS optics and software enhancements. This should provide what the brand calls "Pro-grade" portrait modes, macro shots, and improved low-light performance. 

Meanwhile, both the inner and outer displays feature 20MP selfie cameras.

The rest mentioned are stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. 

Connectivity-wise, the foldable has WiFi 6, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS with NavIC support, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the vivo X Fold 5 runs Android 15 with Funtouch OS out of the box.
