BYD Tang DM-i 7-Seater PHEV now available in the Philippines: 1,160km combined range, and PHP 2,098,000 price

BYD Cars Philippines launched the all-new Tang DM-i 7-seater mid-sized SUV, offering Filipinos a practical and greener alternative for PHP 2,098,000.

Game-changing Super DM-i Power!

Since its 2018 debut as a pure-electric flagship, the Tang series has been advertised as the standard setter for premium SUVs, and the new DM-i variant now brings this legacy to the Philippines. This new 7-seater mid-sized SUV supposedly combines electric efficiency with spacious versatility.

It boasts a commanding presence with its aerodynamic frame, measuring 4,870mm in length, 1,950mm in width, 1,725mm in height, a 2,820mm wheelbase, and a curb weight of 2,130 kg. It features a Dragon Face grille, sleek LED headlights, and 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/50 R20 tires, which deliver a muscular yet futuristic look, enhanced by a panoramic sunroof. It is available in Moonstone Gray, Pearl White, or Silver Sand Black.

Inside the car is the 'Ocean X' interior, including the Nappa leather furnishings, ventilated/heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control, with flexible second and third-row seats that can fold into 1,655 liters of cargo space.

The 15.6-inch rotating touch screen, ambient lighting, and NFC keyless entry via the BYD App add to the luxurious and family-friendly cabin.

For first-time EV or PHEV buyers, the Tang DM-i simplifies the transition with its super DM-i system. It consists of the 1.5-liter turbocharged generator and a 21.5kWh Blade Battery, which yields 271PS and 315Nm torque. This translates to 0-100km acceleration on pure EV mode. This makes it great for daily drives under 50km, which promises to cut fuel costs significantly.

BYD advertises that charging should be convenient when charging from 15 percent to 100 percent in just 3 hours via AC or 30-80 percent in 22 minutes with DC fast chargers from ACMobility's network.

The Tang DM-i's Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature powers external devices and outdoor gear. While the DiPilot ADAS comes with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera should ease the customer's worries while building confidence.

For entertainment, the car is equipped with a 12-speaker Dynaudio system and pairs wirelessly to the user's phone via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

BYD is claiming that the BYD Tang DM-i has a combined total range of 1,160km, which was the outcome of rigorous UN-R101 testing which showcased Super DM-i's electric-priority design and high efficiency hybrid fallback. This test cycle simulates real-world mixed driving conditions, including urban, suburban, and highway scenarios, to provide a realistic estimate of total range on a full battery charge and fuel tank. Importantly, BYD notes that actual results may vary based on driving habits, road conditions, temperature, load, and other factors—real-world tests often show 10-20% less range.

Included with every purchase 8-year or 160,000km warranty for the battery, an 8-year or 150,000km warranty for the motor, and a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty for the vehicle.
