DxOMark: iPhone 17 Pro's camera is almost as good as the OPPO Find X8 Ultra

The new Apple iPhone 17 Pro recorded a strong Photo score of 166 points and a best-in-the-world video score of 171 points. It also achieved the highest video score for the main camera and ultra-wide shooting.

In total, the handset scored 168 points, the third-highest overall rating in the world of camera phones at DxOMark lab's V6 camera testing protocols.

The iPhone 17 Pro bested the likes of vivo X200 Ultra (number 4) and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL (number 5).

Apple's best camera phone this year also nearly bested the OPPO Find X8 Ultra (number 2) with 169 points. The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra (number 1) is still far ahead of everyone else with 175 points.

According to DxOMark, the new iPhone 17 Pro has best in class video performance. it also has smooth zoom performance across most ranges, delivering stunning portrait and high-quality zoomed videos. Its portrait photography is also said to be impressive with accurate color reproduction, natural skin tones, consistently excellent exposure, and good control of artifacts. However, the testing lab said that it has noticable noise in indoor and low light environment.

To recap, the new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max has a boosted camera setup featuring triple 48MP sensors with 8x telephoto lens, up to 40x digital zoom, up to 4K 120fps videos, and ProRes RAW support.
