HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Edition launched: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 7,200mAh battery, 200MP telephoto camera

Following the teasers, HONOR has officially unveiled the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design.

Ultra-fast performance for Porsche enthusiast

The smartphone adheres to the established design language of prior RSR models, emphasizing material quality and distinct visual styling. 

HONOR states the design draws inspiration from Porsche’s flowing lines, notably around the rear camera module. 

The rear panel utilizes a microcrystalline nano-ceramic material, which HONOR claims provides greater durability than traditional glass, achieving a Mohs hardness of 8.5. The company also states the device is approximately 10 percent lighter than previous RSR generations.

It is offered in Slate Gray and Moonstone color options and features IP68 and IP69K ratings.

The color options and display

In front, it features 6.71-inch quad curved OLED with 1.5K 2808 x 1256 resolution, 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate, and is protected by Giant Rhino Glass.

Inside, the phone is equipped with the 4.32GHz 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Memory configurations extend up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

It is also powered by a massive 7,200mAh battery that supports USB-C 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

The features

The imaging system comprises a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) + 50MP ultra-wide sensor + 200MP 3.7x telephoto sensor with up to 100x digital zoom. 

HONOR's AiMAGE system manages color processing and sensor fusion. The camera stabilization is rated at CIPA 6.5, designed to enhance handheld photography in low-light conditions. Honor is offering an optional photography kit, which includes a magnetic grip, a filter adapter, and an external telephoto lens for extended-range shooting.

Others mentioned are ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, 3D face unlock, stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra sound effects.

Connectivity features are WiFi 7, 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone operates on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, incorporating exclusive Porsche Design themes and interface elements.

The device will become available for purchase in China starting January 23. No word yet if HONOR will bring the Porsche model here in PH.
