vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e launched: 6.74-inch LCD, Dimensity 6300, 6,000mAh batteries

vivo has launched two new affordable 5G smartphones in the Chinese market: the Y50s 5G and the Y50e 5G.

Budget 5G phones unveiled

The new models feature nearly identical designs and hardware, differ primarily in storage technology and charging speed.

The phones are offered in Diamond, Platinum, and Sky Blue color options. They also sport an IP64 dust and water resistance and measure at 8.19mm in thickness and 204 grams in weight.

vivo Y50e 5G

Both feature a 6.74-inch flat LCD display with an HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

Powering both devices is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor. They are paired with 6GB of RAM, though their storage differs: the Y50s utilize UFS 2.2 storage, while the Y50e uses the slightly slower eMMC 5.1. Storage options vary by model.

Both models include a large 6,000mAh battery. The Y50s uses USB-C 44W wired charging, whereas the Y50e supports 15W charging.

For cameras, the setup consists of a single 13MP sensor + infrared sensor + LED flash, and a decorative breathing ring light. The front-facing camera for selfies is a 5MP sensor housed in a waterdrop notch.

Other features are a side-fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a single loudspeaker at the bottom.

For connectivity, the phones support WiFi, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and dual SIM.

The devices run on Android 15 with vivo's OriginOS 5 interface.

The devices are currently available only in China. There's no word yet on their availability in other markets at the moment.
