Xiaomi Pad 8 and 8 Pro now in PH: 3.2K 144Hz LCD, Snapdragon chips, and 9,200mAh battery, PHP 29,999 starting price

Apart from the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra PH launch, the brand also officially debuts the 8 Pad Series in the country.

To recap, the new tablets are designed as slim, lightweight devices suited for light productivity. They are built to integrate with Xiaomi's broader ecosystem of smart hardware.

In terms of colors and design, both the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro measure 251.22 x 173.42 x 5.75mm and are available in Pine Green, Blue, or Gray finishes. The Pad 8 weighs 485 grams, while the Pad 8 Pro is slightly heavier at 494 grams.

The display on both models is an 11.2-inch LCD screen with a 3,200 x 2,136 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It features a 144Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 240Hz sampling rate for stylus input. The screen supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and is designed to function with wet hands. It also comes with TUV low blue light certification and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Regarding processor and memory, the Pad 8 is equipped with a 3.21GHz Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 octa-core processor and an Adreno GPU. It offers configurations of 8GB LPDDR5X RAM or 12GB LPDDR5T RAM, paired with either 128GB UFS 3.1 or 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. 

The displays

The Pad 8 Pro, on the other hand, uses a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite octa-core processor and an Adreno 830 GPU. Its memory options are 8GB LPDDR5X RAM or 12GB LPDDR5T RAM, with storage choices of 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.1.

For battery and charging, both tablets house a 9,200mAh battery. The standard Pad 8 supports 45W Turbo Charge via USB-C, while the Pad 8 Pro features faster 67W HyperCharge.

The camera systems differ between the two models. The Pad 8 includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The Pad 8 Pro is equipped with a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front-facing camera.

Other notable features include a quad-speaker system and four microphones on both devices, supporting Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and noise reduction. The tablets are compatible with the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro, a 17.5g stylus with pressure sensitivity and gesture controls, as well as the Pad 8 Focus Keyboard and Standard Keyboards.

For connectivity, both models support WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, Miracast, and IPv6. Additional hardware includes a fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster.

The devices operate on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3. The software introduces a 5:5 vertical split view and a 1:9 horizontal split ratio for enhanced multitasking. 

It also includes a PC-level browser with mouse hover previews and right-click functionality, along with an upgraded dock for quick access to applications. Xiaomi's Hyper AI Integration is incorporated to support interconnectivity and smooth task transitions between devices.
