New electrified Rugged SUVs
The first of the two new SUVs is the DENZA B5 mid-size plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), which is built on BYD's DMO Super Hybrid platform. It measures 4,888 x 1,970 x 1,920mm with a wheelbase of 2,800mm.
It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a dual-motor electric system and a 31.8kWh BYD Blade battery that outputs approximately 425-677hp and 760 Nm of torque. This should yield strong acceleration and responsive performance. It achieves a combined NEDC range of up to 975km (including around 100km of pure electric driving), supported by an 83-liter fuel tank, making it equally suited for daily commutes in Metro Manila traffic or long-haul family trips across the archipelago.

The B5 emphasizes versatility and real-world capability. It features four-wheel drive with front and rear electronically controlled locking differentials for superior traction in challenging conditions. Off-road readiness is enhanced by multiple terrain response modes (including Mud, Sand, Rock, and Water Wading), along with advanced features like Leopard Turn for sharper maneuvers in tight spaces.
Ride quality benefits from sophisticated suspension tuning. while a Cell-to-Chassis battery integration boosts structural rigidity and safety. Interior highlights include premium Nappa leather seats with ventilation, massage, and power adjustment functions; a large infotainment display with smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a high-quality audio system. Advanced driving assistance systems (DiPilot ADAS), 11 airbags, and features like a built-in refrigerator further elevate comfort and safety for all occupants.
Next is the DENZA B8 full-size PHEV SUV available in Dynamic and Premium variants. It measures 5,195 x 1,994 x 1,905mm.
Inside is the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a dual-motor set-up and a larger 36.9kWh battery that produces around 450-611hp and 760 Nm of torque. This enables 0-100km/h accelerations in 4.8 seconds. It carries a 91.5-liter fuel tank, and it delivers a combined NEDC range of up to 1,040km (with over 100km in pure EV mode), ideal for extended journeys with minimal range anxiety.
It features the DiSus-P Intelligent Damping Suspension, which offers up to 140mm of travel and real-time adaptive damping across each wheel independently. This system monitors road conditions, vehicle dynamics, and driver inputs to optimize comfort over rough terrain while maintaining body control and stability during cornering. It pairs with an electronically controlled locking differential system (front and rear on the premium variant) for intelligent torque distribution and enhanced traction on loose surfaces, wet roads, or off-road trails.
Like the B5, the B8 includes four-wheel drive, a full suite of terrain modes, Leopard Turn technology, and advanced maneuvering aids. The interior leans even more premium, boasting larger displays, power-adjustable seats with ventilation and massage, dual wireless chargers, a built-in refrigerator, surround-view cameras, and immersive audio. Additional luxuries such as a panoramic sunroof and superior noise isolation create a serene, first-class cabin experience for driver and passengers alike.
Both models integrate with the DENZA App for remote monitoring of vehicle status, charging/fuel levels, location, and smart controls, adding layers of convenience and peace of mind. They also support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for powering external devices.
