OnePlus Buds Ace 3 launched: 12mm dynamic driver, 55dB ANC, and LHDC 5.0

OnePlus has unveiled the Buds Ace 3 in China, releasing the wireless earbuds alongside the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra.

The new earbuds are positioned as a mid-range option with a broad feature set spanning audio quality, noise cancellation, and low-latency gaming.

The Buds Ace 3 are equipped with a 12mm dynamic driver and support Hi-Res audio via LHDC 5.0, with a sampling rate of up to 96kHz. Additional audio features include a 10-band equalizer, spatial audio support, and a bass enhancement mode the company refers to as BassWave.

On noise cancellation, OnePlus rates the earbuds at up to 55dB with wide frequency coverage. The earbuds also incorporate adaptive algorithms designed to adjust noise reduction in real time based on ambient conditions. For voice calls, a triple-microphone array with AI-based noise reduction is included, with the company citing improved performance in windy environments.

The features

Gaming-oriented users are among the apparent target audience. The Buds Ace 3 are rated for latency as low as 47ms, and the sound profile is said to prioritize directional audio cues such as footsteps.

Battery life is listed at up to 54 hours of total playback with the charging case. The earbuds alone are rated for approximately 13 hours without noise cancellation, or around seven hours with it active. Fast charging is supported, though specific charging times have not been disclosed.

Additional specifications include Bluetooth 6.0, dual-device connectivity, touch controls with gesture support, and AI-powered translation across more than 20 languages. The earbuds carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
