According to a report from China, an internal memo announced that OPPO has a new "sub-series" business unit. The unit consolidates OnePlus and realme's marketing and product operations under OPPO's leadership.

Li Bingzhong (Sky), OPPO SVP, is the head of the new unit. There are other movements with their other key people from both brands as well.

With this move, OPPO intends to streamline the brands to reduce duplication and align resources. realme's research teams (imaging, hardware, etc.) are said to be folded back into OPPO's departments.

The report even claims that realme's offices and teams have already been moved into OPPO's Marina Bay HQ.

Note that there are no official statements from the brands involved yet.

Local reps from the brands also told team GIZUGIDE that there's no official announcement about the matter.
