10 Years of the iconic Sony 1000X Series
For over a decade, Sony's 1000X series has set the benchmark for premium wireless noise-cancelling headphones. Since the launch of the original in 2016, the lineup has consistently delivered industry-leading active noise cancellation, rich immersive sound, and refined comfort that audio enthusiasts and everyday listeners have come to expect.
Now, marking its 10th anniversary, Sony introduces the 1000X THE COLLEXION (WH-1000XX), a luxurious flagship that elevates the series with premium craftsmanship, studio-grade tuning, and cutting-edge performance.

It is elevated by its premium, crafted stainless steel with a sophisticated combination of matte sandblasted texture, polished gloss accents, and soft faux leather earcups and headband. Sony says that these should offer a realistic texture and exceptional tactile comfort.
The design features a wider, thicker cushioned headband and generously proportioned earcups, providing superior all-day wearability with minimal pressure. A metal exoskeleton adds structural contrast and durability, while the overall minimalist lines create a quietly luxurious presence. It is available in either Black or Platinum. It weighs 320 grams only.
It includes a premium magnetic carrying case with an easy-grip handle, designed for effortless storage and travel.

At the heart of the headphones is the bespoke, unidirectional carbon composite 30mm driver, featuring a soft edge and high-rigidity dome. The driver delivers rich, wide-range sound with balanced lows, natural vocals, clear highs, and a spacious soundstage with precise instrument separation.
Sony co-tuned the drivers with renowned mastering engineers from Battery Studios, Sterling Sound, and Coast Mastering. The result should be a faithful reproduction that honors the artist's true intention.
Alongside are the dual processors made of the HD Noise-Canceling Processor QN3 and the new Integrated Processor V3, which power high-resolution audio support via LDAC, enhanced D/A conversion, and advanced spatial audio features.
The headphones are rated for up to 24 hours of battery life with ANC on (with quick charging of 5 minutes yielding 90 minutes of playback), and it features Bluetooth 6.0 with LE audio support.
Software-wise, Sony says that the new headphones come with 360 Upmix, DSEE Ultimate, Ultra-clear calls (via AI-powered beam forming microphones), and the Sony Sound Connect app (where users can customize 10-band EQ, Adaptive Sound Control, and 360 Reality Audio with head tracking).
It supports Multipoint connection, Speak-to-Chat, Quick Attention, wear detection, and is highly customizable.
