Video-centric hybrid mirrorless for creators
To recap, the camera is built around a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC X image processor, which Canon says is designed to deliver image quality, dynamic range, and detail for both stills and video.
It supports continuous shooting of up to 40fps with the electronic shutter, which operates silently and without blackout, and includes a Pre-Continuous Shooting function that captures up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, intended for action, wildlife, and other fast-moving subjects.

On the video side, the EOS R6 V offers 7K 30p RAW Open Gate recording, allowing footage to be reframed into widescreen or vertical formats, or cropped tighter, from a single take.
It also supports 7K 60p RAW (light), uncropped 4K at 120p for slow-motion footage, and 2K/FHD at 180p. The camera includes Canon Log 2 and Log 3 profiles for color grading with extended dynamic range, as well as Canon 709, HDR PQ, and HLG profiles.
Meanwhile, autofocus is handled by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with deep-learning-based subject detection and tracking for people, animals, and vehicles. The Register People Priority feature can store up to 100 faces.
The camera also includes AF support for close-up demonstrations, along with waveform, false-color, zebra display, and focus-guide tools for exposure and focusing.
Image stabilization is handled by a built-in 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilizer rated for up to 7.5 stops of correction when used with compatible RF lenses and Movie Digital IS. An internal cooling fan is included to support extended recording and streaming sessions.

The camera has dual card slots (CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II), which allow for proxy or sub recording. Its body is constructed from magnesium alloy with dust and drip resistance, and includes a vari-angle LCD, a dedicated stills/video switch, and a front recording button. Connectivity options include integration with Canon's "image.canon" cloud service and USB-C 3.2 Gen support, among others.
Canon describes several features as new additions to its R-series lineup with the EOS R6 V, including the internal cooling fan, expanded monitoring tools, 24-bit 4-channel LPCM audio, proxy recording with LUT support, compatibility with a power zoom lever, and native vertical tripod mounting with automatic UI rotation.
The company said these are intended to support hybrid shooting workflows, from solo vlogging and product demonstrations to professional film production.
