At the heart of the Canon EOS R6 V is a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC X image processor. This combination supposedly delivers outstanding image quality, dynamic range, and detail for both stills and video. The camera supports up to 40fps continuous shooting with the electronic shutter (silent and blackout-free), along with Pre-continuous Shooting that captures up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed-ideal for action, wildlife, and decisive moments.

It offers 7K 30p RAW Open Gate recording, allowing creators to reframe footage into widescreen, vertical social media contentm or tighter crops from a single take. Additional formats include 7K 60p RAW (light), uncropped 4K 120p for smooth slow-motion, and 2K/FHD 180p. It supports Canon Log 2 and Log 3 for cinematic color grading with extensive dynamic range, alongside Canon 709, HDR PQ, and HLG profiles.

Autofocus is powered by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with Deep Learning technology, providing fast, accurate subject detection and tracking for people, animals, and vehicles. Register People Priority can store up to 100 faces. Other practical tools include AF for close-up demos, waveform, false color, zebra display, and focus guide for precise exposure and focusing.
