After 6 months of rumors and uncertainties, OnePlus confirmed that the company will conclude its product rollouts in Europe and North America in an official statement.

There is no direct explanation of what made them decide to do this, but this is part of OPPO's recently reported restructuring within the OPPO group that will consolidate OnePlus and realme's marketing and product operations under OPPO's leadership.
Going back to the statement, OnePlus assured that all existing devices will keep getting software updates, security patches, and after-sales support.
OnePlus added that its users who fall within the eligible upgrade scope will have an option to upgrade to a voluntary update to the latest ColorOS (ColorOS 17 at the moment). Legacy models that are not eligible for this specific upgrade will continue to receive software maintenance.
