Durable and long-lasting
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 17 Pro in China, a new mid-range smartphone that emphasizes physical durability alongside a substantially larger battery. The device is available in Sky Blue, Nebula Purple, Black, and White color options.
On the durability front, the phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, reflecting strong resistance to dust and water, including exposure to high-pressure water jets.
Its internal structure includes a metal die-cast bracket and shock-absorbing materials, while the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The Note 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K 2772 x 1280 resolution and a 120Hz maximum refresh rate.

Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits, and the screen includes eye-care features such as 3,840Hz PWM dimming and the ability to dim to as low as 1 nit for use in dark settings.
Powering the device is the 2.4GHz 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 octa-core processor, a chip oriented more toward everyday efficiency than high-end gaming performance.
It is paired with LPDDR4X RAM, alongside UFS 2.2 storage on the 128GB base model and UFS 3.1 on higher-capacity configurations.
The star of the show is the 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, managed by Xiaomi's proprietary Surge G1 chip.
The device also supports 67W wired charging and offers 22.5W wired reverse charging, letting users power other devices from their phone.
To address concerns about long-term battery wear, Xiaomi is offering early buyers a five-year battery service plan, under which the company will replace the battery free of charge if its health drops below 80% within the first four years, with a replacement option also available in the fifth year.
On the camera front, the setup is relatively basic, consisting of a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor, alongside an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
Additional features include dual stereo speakers. For connectivity, the phone supports WiFi 5, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and dual SIM.
It runs on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 software out of the box.
