REDMI 17 Pro Max launched: 10,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, and 100W fast charging

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G in Japan, featuring a massive battery.

The device is available in three colors: Black, Purple, and Cloud Blush. The Cloud Blush variant uses photochromic technology, shifting from white to a pinkish-orange hue under sunlight. 

The Black and Purple versions measure approximately 78.27 x 163.44 x 8.65mm, while the Cloud Blush model is slightly thinner at 8.57mm. All three color options weigh around 229.5g.

The design

Durability is built around what Xiaomi calls its "Redmi Titan Structure," which brings IP66 and IP68 ratings along with a 72-hour underwater test at 2 meters, verified by TÜV SÜD. 

The phone also includes a dedicated water mode for underwater photography. SGS has certified the device to withstand drops from up to 3 meters.

In front, it features a 6.83-inch display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3,200Hz touch sampling rate. Peak brightness reaches up to 3,500 nits. The screen is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carries TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light emission and flicker-free operation.

The features

The phone is powered by Qualcomm's 2.6GHz 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options.

At the core of the device is a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Xiaomi says can last up to three days under normal use. 

It supports 100W wired charging, capable of delivering a full day's power in around 20 minutes. 

Xiaomi also states the battery retains more than 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to roughly six years of use. 

Additionally, the phone supports wired reverse charging at up to 27W, allowing it to charge other devices.

On the back, the phone features a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The front-facing camera is rated at 32MP.

Connectivity features are WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G SA/NSA, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

The device runs on HyperOS 3 and includes AI-powered features such as offline AI translation and real-time speech transcription.

 

Finally, Xiaomi has committed to six years of security updates and four major OS upgrades for the device.
