YouTube Premium price increases in the Philippines

The subscription price last increased in 2023

YouTube Premium remains one of the most widely used subscription services in the Philippines, combining ad-free video streaming with offline downloads and dedicated music access. However, price adjustments and the rollout of lower-cost alternatives have shifted how subscribers evaluate their monthly expenses.

To recap, the YouTube Premium subscription offers features such as No Video Ads, Background Play, Offline Downloads and Storage, YouTube Music Access, and Enhanced Stream Quality (higher bit-rate 1080p setting).

When YouTube Premium first hit the Philippines, it launched at PHP 71 per month for students, PHP 159 per month for individuals, and PHP 239 per month for Family (up to 6 accounts).

Now, in 2026, YouTube Premium increased its prices to PHP 115 per month for students, PHP 189 per month for individuals, and PHP 379 per month for Family (up to 6 accounts).

In February of this Year, YouTube introduced YouTube Premium Lite for PHP 109 per month. It offers mostly Ad-free videos, but it lacks the following features: an ad-free YouTube Music App, Offline Downloads and playback, and background play.

The Family Plan saw the largest increase, from PHP 239 to PHP 379 per month. When split across six accounts within the single household, the cost works out to about PHP 63 per month per person. Overall, we find the Family Plan to be still worth it, especially for the household.

Users subscribing directly through the Apple App Store pay a higher rate of up to PHP 489 per month for the Family Plan due to Apple's third-party in-app purchase fee structure.
