GAC Philippines has expanded its local MPV lineup with the All-New GAC GN6.

It's a seven-seat family vehicle designed for drivers who need more passenger room, flexible cargo space, and modern safety features without moving into a more expensive premium MPV segment.

Joining the ranks of GAC Philippines' current MPVs, which include the E8 HEV and GN8 PHEV Executive, the GN6 is positioned as the most accessible model by far.

Built for school runs, weekend trips, and changing family needs

The GN6 measures 4,792 mm long and has a 2,810 mm wheelbase, with seating for seven passengers across three rows. Its second row uses individual captain’s seats with armrests, a setup that should make longer trips more comfortable for parents, older passengers, or kids who prefer having their own space.

For families who regularly carry more than just people, the third-row seats can fold flat into the floor. According to GAC, this expands luggage capacity from 324 liters to up to 1,100 liters, which could come in handy for grocery runs, bulky strollers, luggage, sports gear, or an out-of-town trip.

The large displays give the dashboard a more modern look, while the practical cabin layout is likely to be the bigger draw for households upgrading from a smaller crossover or sedan.

Turbo power for city and highway driving

A solid family car?

Under the hood, the All-New GN6 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 176.7 HP and 270 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

On paper, that output should give the GN6 enough power for everyday city use, highway overtakes, and trips with a full cabin and cargo. GAC rates its combined fuel consumption at 7.22 km/L under WLTC testing.

Unlike hybrid or electric alternatives, the gasoline-powered GN6 may also appeal to drivers who prefer the familiarity and convenience of regular refueling, especially for longer provincial trips.

Level 2 driver-assistance features on the GN6 GX

Safety is one of the GN6's notable highlights. The GX variant comes with a Level 2 advanced driver-assistance system, or ADAS, which adds useful driver-support features for both highway and urban driving.

• Integrated Cruise Assist
• Automatic Emergency Braking
• Forward Collision Warning
• Lane Keeping Assist
• Lane Departure Warning
• HD 360-degree panoramic camera

These systems are meant to assist the driver and not to replace attentive driving, but features such as the 360-degree camera, automatic emergency braking, and lane-related alerts can be especially helpful when navigating tight parking spaces, busy roads, and long expressway drives.
