Beyond the hardware, the standout feature of the NaviX Ultra is its integration of the Doubao Mobile Assistant, an AI system built for agentic tasks.

The assistant is designed around four core capabilities: deep reasoning, self-correction, extended-context adherence, and generalization.

Deep reasoning allows it to break complex tasks into smaller, manageable sub-tasks. Self-correction enables it to recover from unexpected errors mid-task.

Extended-context adherence helps it stay on track during long-running operations without losing focus, while generalization lets it apply knowledge learned in one app to solve problems in contexts it hasn't previously encountered.

In terms of connectivity and functionality, the AI assistant is capable of interacting with third-party apps and calling the APIs of various online services, including the Lark collaboration suite, Chinese ride-hailing service CaoCao Mobility, the phone's native map application, and music streaming platforms.

It can also manage incoming phone calls using preset response scripts, transcribe voice notes, search through saved screenshots, and identify products shown on screen.

The device ships with Android 16 as its base operating system, layered with ZTE's Nebula AIOS 2 interface, rather than launching on the newer Android 17.
