Smart to further improve network

According to the company, it will cooperate closely with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on areas flagged in its show cause order, validating findings against its own network data while addressing opportunities for improvement.

Smart also noted that it will validate the NTC's observations against independent third‑party assessments, which have consistently rated its network highly.

At the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)'s latest Oplan Bantay Signal reports, Smart maintained a "Good" overall performance rating in July and August 2026.

Smart achieved an overall score of 80.2 and average download speeds hitting 52.13 Mbps in August to remain the country's fastest mobile network.

The mobile telco giant also claimed that it recorded zero crisis cities nationwide for the fourth straight month, with all measured cities exceeding 15 Mbps.

To recap, Ookla also recognized Smart for delivering the Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines in H1 2026, awarding it the country’s top Video Score of 72.82.

Smart said these benchmarks, along with its own data and NTC findings, will guide efforts to boost network quality, capacity, and resilience.
