TECNO CAMON Slim 5G and MagBadge First Look - PH launch date confirmed!

TECNO Mobile Philippines is set to introduce a promising new smartphone designed for young working women or simply anyone who wants an ultra‑slim device—the CAMON SLIM 5G.

Meet TECNO CAMON Slim 5G and TECNO MagBadge 

The company told team GIZGUIDE that the CAMON SLIM 5G will officially launch in the country on October 1, 2026. As a partner accessory, the company TECNO is also launching the MagBadge. 

Ahead of the launch, we have had a chance to grab the new devices. Here's our first look.

Frosted glass back

The main highlight of the phone is its extra-slim frame, which arrived in a super-sleek-looking flat aluminum metal frame with a fingerprint-resistant frosted finish at just 6.39mm and 190 grams.

In comparison, it's slimmer than the 8.75 mm iPhone 18 Pro Series while packing a larger 6,000 mAh battery—an impressive engineering feat.

The phone is available in Burgundy Red, Gossamer White, Matisse Black, and Rebel Pink colors. My unit is in the stunning Burgundy Red that simply screams elegance.

Slight camera hump

The CAMON retains its signature two‑tone finish in Burgundy Red, blending slightly darker and lighter shades. At the back, a vertically aligned dual-camera setup with slight protrusion is complemented by laser‑etched text that spells "CAMON."

Moreover, the company managed to add IP68/69/69K dust and water resistance, the highest level yet found on mobile phones, for extra protection.

The display

In front, the phone features a 6.78-inch ProXDR Eye-care Display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate and a top-center punch-hole for its selfie camera. According to the company, this is also extra bright, up to 4,500 nits, and comes with Rain Touch coating, allowing the screen to be usable and responsive even when wet.

Bezels are also slim and symmetrical, making it look like a premium-tier device with superb immersiveness.

All ports and buttons are positioned in familiar locations. At the top, users will find the upward‑firing speaker, Dolby Atmos branding, a microphone, and an infrared sensor.

At the bottom, there’s the dual SIM tray, another microphone, a reversible USB‑C port, and the downward‑firing speaker that completes the stereo setup.

On the left side, an easy‑to‑reach textured AI key serves as a shortcut to the Ella AI assistant. On the right, you’ll see the usual power button and volume rocker.

The rest of the specs

The unit we unboxed came with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor—a chip known for delivering smooth everyday performance across basic apps while being more power‑efficient than previous‑generation MTK 5G processors.

TECNO paired it with 8GB RAM (expandable to 16GB via Extended RAM), 256GB of internal storage, and the previously mentioned 6,000mAh battery supported by a 45W fast charger—impressive for a phone this slim.

The phone runs on Android 16 OS with 5-year, 3-generation Android System Updates.

TECNO MagBadge 

MagBadge

This handset could be paired with the TECNO MagBadge, a magnetic accessory that primarily allows users to preview the rear camera feed and snap photos remotely, making it especially handy for selfies, group shots, or creative angles where reaching the shutter button would be awkward.

Some of its features

It also offers plenty of other functions, including timers, phone controls, a stopwatch, photos, video, mini games, and more.

Beyond taking selfies with the rear camera, we were able to use it to display favorite photos and even attach it to a bag—like a digital Labubu—thanks to its case.

For specs, it features a 1.73‑inch OLED 466 x 466 resolution screen, Wireless Media Sync for personalized visuals, rear camera preview with a 10‑meter remote shutter for hands‑free shooting, a 450mAh battery, Bluetooth and WiFi support, and Type‑C charging.

So far, I'm really enjoying the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G. This device is showing a lot of promise.

The design is impressively slim yet sturdy, the display is bright and immersive, the build feels superb, and the cameras are looking more than decent in early use. The battery life is also strong, which is remarkable for such a thin device.

The companion MagBadge adds a fresh layer of fun and convenience, especially when taking selfies or groufies with friends using the primary camera. It's both practical and playful, making the overall experience more engaging.

These are just first thoughts, and while the devices look exciting, the real impact will depend on TECNO's official pricing and promos in the Philippines.
