Palace appoints Robert Joseph Montes de Claro as the new DICT Secretary

Following the resignation of Henry Aguda, the Palace has appointed Robert Joseph Montes de Claro as the new Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Meet the newly appointed DICT Secretary

The DICT, together with its attached agencies, welcomed Secretary De Claro's appointment, citing his extensive leadership experience and commitment to digital transformation.

De Claro previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Social Security System (SSS). Under his leadership, he spearheaded initiatives to modernize operations, enhance service delivery, and push for greater digitalization.

In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directives and through the new direction of Secretary De Claro, DICT pledged to continue expanding internet connectivity nationwide, strengthening cybersecurity, promoting responsible and secure use of online platforms, improving digital government services, and ensuring technology becomes more accessible to every Filipino.

The agency expressed optimism about working with Secretary De Claro in building a more connected, secure, and inclusive digital Philippines.
