Intel's 8th Gen Core Desktop Processors And Z370 Chipset Now Official

Intel has just announced their newest generation of Core Processors along with the chipset that will support it. Welcome the 8th Gen Core i3, i5 and i7 along with Z370 chipset.

The new Core processors will be as follows. The Core i3 will have quad-cores, the i5 will now have 6 cores and, of cource, the i7 will be the one geared for gaming. 

Intel wants to cover every kind of computer users. These will be a line of processors that will cater to gamers, content creators and even overclock freaks like me. They will have unlocked "K" processors, 12 MB of Intel Smart Cache and up to 40 PCIE 3.0 lanes.

Of course, processors this pwerful need a chipset that can support it. Enter the Z370 chipset. This chipset will allow for improved power delivery for 6 core processors, enhanced package power delivery for overclocking and a memory routing support for DDR4-2666 memory.

The Core i7 will have the 8700K and 8600 vairants with 6 cores, 12 threads and up to 4.7 Ghz of clock speeds. Along with the Core i5, the Core i7 will feature Rubo Boost 2.0 for single core frequency boosts.

The Core i5 will have the 8600K and 8400 variants with 6 cores, 6 threads and up to 4.3 Ghz clock speeds.

Lastly, the Core i3 will have the 2350K and 2100 with 4 cores, 4 threads and clock speeds of 4.0 Ghz. Unfortunately, the Turbo Boost 2.0 feature will not be hitting the Core i3.

A boost of 25% for gaming and 32% for rendering is what Intel is promising. 

Prices will be as follows. The Core i7 start at USD 303.00, Core i5 at  USD 182.00 and the Core i3 will start at USD 117. The 8th Generation Core processors are slated for an October 5th debut.
