OpenSignal: Smart Now Has Faster LTE Speeds And Bigger Network Availability
According to the latest report of Open Signal wireless coverage research, Smart Communications Inc. maintained its lead in LTE speeds across the nation. Smart now has an average download speed of 10.6 Mbps which is better compared to the last 6 months.

In addition, OpenSignal has cited a "big increase" in the availability of Smart LTE compared to six months ago. Smart was able to improve it by 12 percentage points to 52.71!
Smart has also finished its LTE rollout in the country’s top urban hubs Metro Cebu and Metro Davao already. In Metro Manila, the upgrade is currently ongoing.
Smart held onto OpenSignal’s 4G speed award with an average download of 10.6 Mbps, increasing slightly over the last six months, OpenSignal said in its report released yesterday. By virtue of the big increase in its availability score, Smart was able to deliver its faster LTE connections to customers more often, it added.
This is inline with the company's goal of building 200 more cell sites w/ 700 MHz spectrum to improve overall internet speed, service, and range before the year ends.

Apart from improving the network, Smart is also setting the pace in putting LTE within the reach of our customers by helping them shift to LTE devices to experience our improved network, Alberto added.
All of these upgrades is a part of Smart's three-year network improvement plan.
Smart has also committed to roll out LTE to 95% of the country’s cities and municipalities by the end of 2018.
Personally, I experienced Smart's 4G+ signal even in the middle of the sea in Boracay few days back.
