We have reached that time of the year wherein most of the newest flagships are out. Not only do we have Samsung Galaxy Note 8 out in the market, we also have Apple's newest devices including the iPhone X. Initially, who is better? Let's see!
Samsung Note 8 Or Apple iPhone X: Which Is Better?
Note 8 or iPhone X?

Samsung really rocked the smartphone world with much-awaited Note 8. From the design, build and specs, you can see that it really is a beastly phone. However, Apple's iPhone X is now out and we feel that we have to compare it with Note 8. Why, you ask? It is the same reason why we compare LeBron and Kobe, Sharon and Vilma or Goku and Superman? It's because we can and, to some extent, we have to.

Let's start off with their compliance with 2017's smartphone trend, the bezel-less displays. Admit it. That's the trend right now. While a lot of phones tried to go bezel-less before (Sharp Aquos, anyone?), it only caught on when Samsung did it with S8 and S8+. The Samsung Note 8 has a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display that has a 18:9:5 aspect ratio. It is bezel-less on both sides with minimal bezels on the top and bottom. It has 2960 x 1440 resolution with 521 ppi pixel density.

The iPhone X, on the other hand, has a 5.8 inch OLED Super Retina Display with a 2436 x 1125 resolution and 458 ppi pixel density. It has very slim bezels all around with a top notch that houses sensors, cameras, speaker and microphone. It still has bezels, yes, but the overall look of the screen still oozes immersive experience.

In comparison, the Note 8's display has higher resolution, bigger size, and sharper image reproduction overall. However, you can't knock the iPhone X out yet because it still has a very beautiful OLED Super Retina Display. It has a very good contrast ratio that makes image reproduction really pleasant to the eyes.

The cameras in both phones are really good too. The Samsung Note 8 has a 12 MP f/1.7 RGB sensor that has Dual Pixel AF and multiframe tech + a 12 MP telephoto f/2.4 lens with 2x lossless zoom. Both sensors also has optical image stabilization too that can help in video recording and overall image quality. The front cam sports an 8 MP f/1.7 sensor with AF and auto-HDR.

The iPhone X has a similar setup as well with two 12 MP cameras as it's main shooter. The first one is a 12 MP f/1.8 wide sensor while the other one is a brighter 12 MP telephoto lens. Both sensors has OIS as well which should be able to improve cideo recording quality and overall image as well.

Which has the more powerful specs under the hood though? So let us look at the rest of the specs, shall we?

The Samsung Note 8 has can either sport an octa-core Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 depending on where you get it. It has 6 GB of RAM with either 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB of internal storage. You can also expand this via microSD card up to 256 GB. It also has a fingerprint sensor and iris scanner. It has 4G LTE as well. It is also IP68 certified for water resistance and dust proof level of protection.

The Apple iPhone X on the other hand has a six-core A11 Bionic chip with a 64 bit architecture. It also has neural engine and M11 motion coprocessor. It also has a supposed 3 GB of RAM but that is not confirmed yet. It has 64 GB / 256 GB of storage with no SD slots as per usual. No TouchID anymore to make way for the newer FaceID. The iPhone X has LTE Advanced which can be simplified into "5G". The iPhone X is IP67-certified only which means that it is only waterproof under 1 meter of water of 30 minutes.

Both has Qi wireless charging capability as well as fast charging. Specs wise if we are looking at just paper then the Note 8 seems has a lead against the iPhone X.
