Because of that, PhilCare, the leading health care provider in partnership with Samsung provided the first ever NFC capable HMO membership card in the Philippines. It's specifically designed to make availment faster, more efficient and close to paperless.

That's an awesome news!

Why? Transactions is now faster and easier. That will save you time and prevent stress from waiting and doing extra work. NFC is a form of wireless radio technology that allows two objects (reader and storage device) to send and receive information in a brief contact. With that NFC PhilCare membeship cards just needs to be tapped on Samsung Devices with NFC to ensure faster and a more secure transfer of data.

“We are proud to introduce this new technology to the HMO industry. We’ve been looking for the best technology to make medical services smoother and more convenient for our clients and providers and NFC seems to be the perfect fit for this goal,” -  Noemi Azura, CEO & President, PhilCare.

In addition to that, those cards also means to do away the usual hard process of availing health services from HMOs. For example, in most cases, hospitals will require customers to secure an authority letter before getting medical services.

Now all of that is no longer neccessary for NFC powered cards by PhilCare as they just need to hand their cards with over 200 service providers of PhilCare! In a single tap, hospitals and clinics can now easily determine your coverage and benefits together with all the other information needed from the member's account.

Security-wise, as I said earlier is not that much of an issue. Samsung has specialized with this form of technology that they used with their file transfers, payments and other transactions. Their devices are equipped with security features from hardware level that's enhanced by their proprietary security platform to protect transactions from being leaked and breached.

Samsung smartphones have long been equipped with NFC technology, used for quick file transfers, payments and other transactions. Each mobile device is equipped with security features from the hardware level, and can be further enhanced with Samsung’s propriety security platform to protect such transactions from being leaked or breached.

“R&D is at the heart of what we do, allowing us to continuously produce innovative products and offer progressive solutions for like-minded, forward looking institutions like PhilCare. Ultimately, it is our goal to enrich the lives of people,” - Chad Sotelo, Corporate Marketing Head, Samsung Electronics Philippines Co.

This new technology is the first of its kind in the Philippine health care industry and allows patient information to be updated in real-time, ensuring quick, efficient, and accurate service.

“We are very excited with this technology and in the future we hope to set up a rewards program for members with the NFC cards,” Azura said.

The launch of its new membership cards is only one of the many innovations PhilCare has set up to affirm its position as a pioneer in the health care industry.

Pretty cool and useful type of innovation right? What do you think guys?
